Loving, Living, Learning

These three words are hanging out at the top of this blog with our logo and they summarize our goals for Kids of Faith.

Love...Our kids will learn about God’s love for them and experience how to love God & love others. They will be loved by godly adults who share Christ’s love with them.

Live...Our kids will experience life alongside adults that care about them and disciple them. They will learn how their faith effects the way they live each moment.

Learn...Our kids will learn the Word of God, hide it in their hearts, and learn spiritual disciplines to help them continue to grow.

Parents, Be Encouraged!

I read this passage during a quiet time last week and was struck by the beauty of this image.

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. -Isaiah 40:11-

I'm so encouraged to know I am carried close to the Lord's heart! When the world is spinning out of control, I can rest close to my Father's heart! For the parents of our dear Kids of Faith, I trust you will be encouraged to know that our Shepherd gently leads those that have young. What good news to know He's patient and gentle with you as you seek to obey Him in raising your young ones!

Praying for you today, Parents!

Defending the Cause of the Fatherless - Summit XI

Adoption has been on our hearts since Tony & I were married. We're not sure where that means the Lord will lead us in the future, but the Summit XI conference has certainly sparked our interest.

Even if adoption isn't on your radar, Summit XI is a great place to learn about the organizations dedicated to orphans and what part we can play individually and as churches in supporting them.

When: April 29-30
Where: Eden Prairie, MN
Keynote speakers: Include John Piper & Steven Curtis Chapman
More info: www.christianalliancefororphans.org

Would you consider attending?

"Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless..." Isaiah 1:17

How are we defending the cause of the fatherless?

Consider Mentoring a Child

The #1 common denominator in children who stay committed to their Christian faith as adults are those who had an adult, other than a parent, show an interest in their spiritual development as a young person. —Mark Steiner, Creator, DiscipleLand—

Would you be willing to mentor a young person in our church? Start praying about it and look for more information soon!

Cari wants to do lunch with the kids!

It’s been awhile since I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying delicious school food, and I’ll tell you what, I’ve just been waiting for an excuse to head to a school cafeteria! One of my top priorities is building relationships with the children of our church and our community. I’d like to do that by joining each of the children from our church for lunch at their schools. I’m planning on starting this the end of March. I’ll be in touch with parents to talk details!

Parents - Please Stop By!

Parents - Your thoughts on our ministry are incredibly important to me. I’m scheduling one-on-one meetings with parents and others involved in Children’s Ministry so I can begin to feel the heartbeat of Kids of Faith.

Questions I’d like to ask...
• What’s working well?
• What can we improve?
• How can I support you as a parent?
• What's the best way to communicate with you?

Please take a look at the times below and email or call me to set up a time to stop by and chat!
• Mondays: 2-7 pm
• Tuesdays: 12-2 pm
• Thursdays: 2-7 pm

If none of these times work, let me know and we'll find a time that works!

Week one done!

I've just finished up my first week as Children's Director at FBC and enthusiasm is running through my veins like crazy! I haven’t even needed my morning coffee this week because my excitement for Kids of Faith at FBC has given me all the energy I can handle! I’ve spent time all week learning from parents, Sunday school teachers, and KidStuf leaders, and I’m left with great anticipation for what the Lord is about to do in our church!

Thank you for trusting me with this ministry and these precious children. I am so thrilled to be serving my God and my church family in this new role and I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store!

Consumed with the call,
Cari
